John Paul Rooney started his wine career at home, growing up with parents who are artists, where wine was always part of the dinner experience. Growing up with wine and food, it only made sense to end up working in the restaurant industry where he developed a love and passion for wine and food industry.
After spending many years working both back and front of the house in various restaurants, John Paul answered the call to work for a wine distributor. There he worked in the On-Premise channel, helping his accounts develop wine programs, educating the service staff on how to sell wine and increase sales. From there, John Paul moved to the wine supplier side, where he managed distributors, developed and implemented programs to increase sales, developed educational seminars and worked with On and Off-Premise wine buyers to help grow their business.
John Paul’s professional experience includes working as Central Area Sales Manager for Aveniu Brands (A Codorniu-Raventos Company), Central Regional Sales Manager for Foley Family Wines, IL District On-Premise Manager for VineOne, a Division of Constellation Brands, On-Premise Key Account Manager for Distinctive Wine and Spirits Distributor and Various Positions (Hotel Division Manager, Key Account Manager, On Premise Sales Representative) for Southern Wine and Spirits IL.
