A limited quantity of the pinot noir is available online.
Jimmy John’s is making available a limited-release wine online to celebrate its newest sandwich.
The pinot noir, called “Vin de Sandwich,” was designed to pair with the Frenchie sandwich, featuring salami, capicola and provolone.
The wine has "notes of dark raspberry and ripe cherry, and hints of cedar and spice," Jimmy John's says in a statement. It’s produced and bottled by The Folk Machine winery in Santa Rosa, Calif., and made with grapes sourced from the
Chalone appellation. About 600 bottles were made and they’re available only online for $29.99.
“We put a lot of time and effort into creating sandwiches that marry speed with the highest-quality ingredients,” Jimmy John’s chief marketing officer John Shea said in the statement. “While The Frenchie stands on its own, we thought it was so good it should be enjoyed with wine. And now there's the perfect wine to pair with it that shows customers just how serious we are about sandwiches.”
Jimmy John’s is headquartered in Champaign. Since its founding in 1983, it has grown to more than 2,800 locations in 43 states.
